Preston Smith

Preston Smith is co-founder and CEO of Rocketship Education, a leading blended charter school system in the United States, currently serving 3,800+ students in grades K-5 in seven schools and the highest performing low-income school system in California.

After graduating the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a degree in Latin American Studies, Smith joined Teach For America where he taught 1st Grade in San Jose. After teaching for three years, he founded a district school - L.U.C.H.A. - in San Jose and became its principal. He is an Aspen Institute Fellow. Smith lives in San Jose with his wife and two children.
